Coventry City ticket prices revealed as Preston game set for CBS Arena return

Coventry City chief executive David Boddy has welcomed the English Football League's decision to allow the team to play at the Coventry Building Society Arena again.

The Sky Blues will play their first home game of the season next Wednesday against Preston North End after having three league matches postponed. Home clashes against Rotherham United, Wigan Athletic and Huddersfield Town were called off due to the unplayable state of the pitch.

On Thursday afternoon the EFL released a statement, announcing that they deemed the playing surface at the CBS Arena to be matchworthy. The sporting body had previously judged the pitch to be unsafe after it hosted rugby sevens action during the Commonwealth Games.

The EFL will take action against City for the postponements, with a decision likely to be made at their next scheduled board meeting. The club are expected to be fined a six-figure sum, believed to be around £100,000, which will be passed onto Wasps RFC as part of a compensation claim.

For now, Coventry City and its fans will just be happy to be able to watch the team line out at their home ground once again. The club revealed that tickets for the game against Preston are being set at a very reasonable £20 to welcome supporters back following a longer-than-expected wait.
