Coventry City fans give verdict on new priority points scheme for away tickets

Coventry City have confirmed details of the club’s new ‘Priority Points’ scheme for away games, which has received a mixed reaction from fans.

The system has been introduced to provide a fairer distribution of tickets for travelling supporters, particularly for games where the Sky Blues have a limited allocation at opposition grounds. The Sky Blue Army regularly travel in large numbers to get behind Mark Robins and his players, and demand often outstrips supply due to restrictions at certain stadiums.

Supporters have been allocated points based on ticket purchases since the 2019/20 season, and will be able to gain points through ticket purchases going forward.

City chief executive Dave Boddy said: “We’re pleased to confirm the details for the new priority points scheme. This scheme has been introduced to make the access to purchase away tickets fairer for our supporters.

“In allocating the points, we have been keen to ensure that past support, both home and away, has been acknowledged and rewarded. Fans will be able to gather more points going forward through attending games. The new system will be in place for the first away game of the season against Sunderland – we are awaiting ticket information for this game and will communicate this as soon as we are able to do so. Supporters will be able to view their Priority Points shortly by logging in to their account at eticketing.co.uk/CCFC
