Cost £15.8m, now worth £36m: Fosun struck gold with “effortless” Wolves star - opinion

Having taken Wolves from the Championship to chasing European football since they took over back in 2016, Fosun have shown through the years that they are not shy when it comes to spending money on new players to help push the club forward.

One player that made the move to Molineux under Fosun that has been a particularly impressive signing by the Midlands club is midfielder Ruben Neves.

Wolves signed the Portuguese international back in the 2017 summer transfer window in what was a record-breaking transfer for a club in the Championship having paid £15.8m in a deal from FC Porto.

Since arriving at the Midlands club, the 24-year-old has racked up a total of 200 appearances for the Old Gold across all competitions, firmly cementing himself as an important figure for Wolves, chipping in with 22 goals and 11 assists along the way.

This season has seen the midfield maestro earn himself an overall performance rating of 6.84/10, making him the fifth-highest rated outfield player currently in Bruno Lage’s squad according to WhoScored.
