Corrie viewers think they've worked out how Elaine might die as they decide she's a 'goner'

Coronation Street fans reckon they've worked out that Elaine Jones might become Stephen Reid's next victim as they watched Monday night's episode (May 1). Not only do they think Elaine, Tim Metcalfe's mum, might be killed off by her man, they've predicted how she might die at the hands of the soap serial killer.

Soap watchers saw Elaine's worried son Tim Metcalfe take her hostage in his taxi to stop her from heading to Las vegas to marry Stephen, who he suspects is after her money. As they returned to the cobbles she complained of a funny turn and said she needed her pills.

This was news to Stephen who later asked her what they were for, and she told him she suffered from high blood pressure. "My mother had it too," she explained. "She was younger than I am now when she died bless her." And she added ominously: "I must be made of stronger stuff."

@demelcy tweeted: "Elaine has pills? Oh dear." @THEJohnMcNee exclaimed: "PILLS!? Oh, Elaine. You're a goner." And @floweroflondon said: "Elaine has pills. Very shortly to have some extra ingredients."

Stephen surprised the family as he announced that he had asked solicitor Adam Barlow to draw up a prenuptial agreement to 'take money out of the equation.' As the family prepared to celebrate, Stephen was shown filling in a life insurance policy for Elaine.
