Coronation Street star Jane Hazlegrove issues warning after uncovering link to 'gorgeous' co-stars

Coronation Street star Jane Hazlegrove has issued a warning to fans. The actress took to social media to warn her followers after she became aware of a "bogus account" pretending to be her.

Jane, known for playing Bernie Winter in the ITV soap after previously playing Kathleen "Dixie" Dixon in BBC's Casualty, recently saw her character leave the cobbles for a short time after she was handed a custodial prison sentence.

Bernie was heartbroken to be leaving her family behind on what could be her son Paul Foreman's last Christmas as his Motor Neurone Disease progresses. She got put behind bars just as her daughter, Gemma, faces trouble with social services after she accidentally poisoned her step-son Joseph.

But away from the cobbles, a concerned Jane shared the typed-out message on Instagram after she became aware of someone pretending to be her in a bid to extract money from the soap star's fans.

Jane's message read: "Someone is pretending to be me via a bogus account and is asking for money. I would NEVER do this so please be aware and report if you see it. Thank you, Jane."

And fans were quick to respond. @kirstyjane3006 said: "What is wrong with people?! Hopefully instagram will deal with this quickly!" @peachemarina commented: "Thankyou for the warning Jane Too many of these scam accounts." @frankhamjoanne8 added: "Oh no. How terrible thank you for sharing this with us. Also thought you were amazing in this week's Corrie scenes. Will miss Bernie working in the cafe especially giving all her customers witty advice."
