Coronation Street fans will be delighted to hear Carla Connor will be back on the cobbles next week - and her friendship with DS Lisa Swain leads her to confront Joel Deering.

Speaking of the evil solicitor, while visiting Lauren in the hospital and discovering his ex-fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey there too, Joel threatens Lauren. Reporting Joel’s latest threat to Lisa, Dee-Dee learns that Joel used to work for a firm, Walcotts, which specialises in helping vulnerable young people. Will Dee-Dee’s digging turn up dirt on Joel?

Meanwhile, Betsy Swain tells a gutted Dylan Wilson that she’s not ready for another boyfriend and suggests they’re better off as mates. But during Betsy’s attempt to open up to her mum about Mason’s latest threats, Lisa is preoccupied when her phone rings leading to a frustrated Betsy walking out.
