Coronation Street's Samia Longchambon flooded with praise as she shares exciting news amid soap 'break'

Coronation Street star Samia Longhcambon has been showered with praise and applause amid her 'break' from the cobbles. The actress recently shared that she's spending some time with her husband and children on holiday.

Samia, who is known for playing Maria Windass - nee Sutherland and Connor - in the ITV soap, took to Instagram earlier this week where she posted a snap of herself perched on a rock in front of what appeared to be a beautiful rocky backdrop with calm flowing water.

Alongside the photo she wrote: "Lovely spot to drop your shoulders and take a deep breath." Alongside the words, she added a number of hashtags that read "finding calm", "France", and "reset". And fans quickly flooded the comments section with compliments for the star as well as sharing their well wishes.

And while she may be enjoying the French countryside, Samia is still appearing in Corrie, which is filmed weeks in advance, and in ITV show Cooking with the Stars. And following the latest edition of the competition on Tuesday night (August 1), the soap star had some exciting news to share.

"Whooop! We made it to the final… @iamjoannapage @peterandre," Samia typed alongside a gorgeous picture of herself sandwiched between Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page and singer-turned-TV and theatre star Peter Andre.

Samia then added: "#cookingwiththestars Thank you to my wonderful chef and mentor @jeanchristophe_novelli you’re the best!! What a ride it’s been so far… can’t wait for next week!!" And Jean Christophe was quick to respond, writing in the comments: "Proud mentor! You did incredible, good job on French week with me and @slongchambon cheering you
