Coronation Street's Peter Ash leaves fans with same response as he's seen soaked with co-star

Coronation Street star Peter Ash was left receiving plenty of the same messages from fans as he was seen completely soaked with his co-star. The actor took to social media with a behind-the-scenes snap from a recently aired scene that left viewers in tears.

As fans of the ITV soap know, Peter plays Paul Foreman as is currently winning praise for his portrayal of the character as he continues to navigate life with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Former builder Paul was told of the life-shortening disease, in which messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles, last April with there currently being no cure.

Then earlier this year, Paul's husband Billy Mayhew discovered that Paul had been secretly planning to take matters into his own hands and decided when his life should come to an end as his symptoms caused by the life-limiting disease progress.

Since then, Paul's health has continued to deteriorate and during scenes aired in Corrie last week, the much-loved character was seen attending an appointment alongside Billy with the MND nurse, who tells them that as his weakened neck muscles get worse he won't be able to use his stair lift currently being used to get him in and out of the flat.

While sitting in the hospital, a heartbroken Paul realised he may be facing the rest of his life indoors and once back on the street, he and Billy were seen sitting in Vitoria Garden when it started to rain. Despite the turn in weather, Paul wanted to soak it all in as he emotionally said: "I just want to make the most of it, whilst I still can."
