Coronation Street's Elle Mulvaney declares love for co-star as new permanent role confirmed

Coronation Street star Elle Mulvaney has shared her delight for her co-star as she was confirmed to be a permanent cast member on the ITV soap. The actress, who plays Weatherfield's Amy Barlow, was reacting to the news that Vicky Myers will now be a regular in the long-running show.

The actress originally only signed up for eight episodes as DS Lisa Swain. The detective sergeant was first seen in 2021 when she led the police investigation into the assaults on Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin which led to the latter's death.

More recently Corrie viewers have seen Swain face backlash from Daisy Midgeley after the police didn't stop her stalker Justin Rutherford before he launched a horrific acid attack on her wedding day and was also seen hunting down serial killer Stephen Reid back in October, only for him to be ploughed into and killed on the street by Peter Barlow.

She's now been tasked with investigating the disappearance of Lauren Bolton which has been revealed will become a murder investigation with Roy Cropper arrested after coming under suspicion of the shocking crime alongside Daniel Osbourne.
