Coronation Street's Bill Fellows almost played another ITV soap character as he reveals 'panic' when he started role

Coronation Street star Bill Fellows has revealed he could have played another character as he discussed his exit for the firs time. It was previously rumoured the actor would be leaving the ITV soap after three years of playing Stu Carpenter.

Having realised that his quest to try and mentor troubled teen Mason has put Yasmeen Nazir and her business at risk, chef Stu tells her he has decided to go and live permanently with his granddaughter in Germany.

In a new interview, asked how long he thought he'd be on the cobbles for when he started, Bill revealed: "When I first started it
