Coronation Street's Alison King makes rare comments about daughter and reveals which co-star she 'relies on'

Coronation Street star Alison King has opened up about working on the soap alongside a number of other powerful women as the soap celebrates its female stars as they take centre stage during another dramatic month in Weatherfield.

It's been revealed that this June, the powerhouses that are some of the women of the cobbles will be taking over as secrets unfold, lies are unearthed and love is put to the test.

As part of the month, Corrie gathered the nine ladies at the forefront of the drama together to shoot a bunch of gorgeous new exclusive images and chat about their own friendships and life on the soap in 2024.

Among them is Alison, who is famed for playing Carla Connor in the ITV soap. She first arrived on the cobbles in 2006 and introduced as the wife of Paul Connor. But it wasn't Alison's first time on the cobbles as she previously appeared in a different role as Mrs Fanshaw in 2004.

Carla has faced her fair share of tough times over the years. More recently, the no-nonsense Underworld boss faced almost losing her factory at the hands of now-deceased serial killer Stephen Reid before losing her husband Peter Barlow as they went their separate ways.

She was then faced with her nephew Bobby Crawford's unannounced arrival, then her beloved friend Roy Cropper being imprisoned, with the cafe owner refusing to speak to Carla after he discovered she knew Bobby had made a false statement to aid his release.
