Coronation Street's Alan Halsall reveals what would have stopped him doing I'm A Celeb after 2023 dropout

Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has revealed the one thing that would have stopped him taking part in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here this year after having to pull out of starring in the 2023 series.

The actor, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, is among the 10 stars heading Down Under to take part in the ITV reality show's 2024 run, once again hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly in Australia.

Alan was rumoured to be heading the Australian outback for the hit programme, fronted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, after reportedly having to pull out of last year's series. won by reality star Sam Thompson, as he had to undergo surgery on an ACL injury which put him out of action and into regular rehab to recover.

But while he's now signed up to the new series, Alan has since admitted he would have given up his place on the show if his 11-year-old daughter Sienna, who his shares with ex-wife and former Corrie star Lucy-Jo Hudson, had asked him to stay at home.

According to The Sun, he said: "If Sienna had said, ‘Dad, don’t go’, I don’t think I would do it if I’m brutally honest. It was much, much harder than I thought and I fully appreciate that it’s a couple of weeks away but to Sienna, at her age, I’m on the other side of the world - she doesn’t get to see me and speak to me on the phone and stuff.

"I’m a single parent as well, so when I’m with Sienna it is me and her. I think once I get on screen, hopefully she can watch it with a smile on her face and have a good laugh at Dad, and hopefully Dad doesn’t embarrass her too
