Coronation Street fans ask 'why' as they complain amid Asha and Nina 'cheating' storyline

Coronation Street fans have been left sharing the same complaint as they continue to watch Asha Alahan and Nina Lucas' relationship hit the rocks. While no cheating, as of yet, has taken place, viewers of the ITV soap have seen Asha growing closer to her new work pal, Isla.

As Isla flirts with her paramedic mentor, Asha is torn between spending time with her and her partner Nina, who is appearing increasingly put out by her other half. Nina has been seen heading out night out after night and was last seen in the Bistor sinking some wine when she called Shona Platt for a shoulder to cry on.

It comes after earlier scenes in which a drunk Isla challenged Asha to an arm wrestle. The deal was if Isla won, Asha would stay for another drink but if she lost, Asha could go home and study. But as it got underway, Nina arrived and was concerned to see her girlfriend holding Isla’s hand.

As Isla left, things remained awkward between Nina and Asha. While Nina headed out, Asha was aware something needed to change so she called her supervisor and said she’d like to have a different mentor.

Meanwhile, Nina was in the Bistro talking to Shona about how she’s been feeling. Wanting to help, Shona took Nina’s phone and changed her name in the contacts folder to ‘Rob’. Shona then sent a fake text pretending to be Rob, telling Nina it’s Asha’s turn to realise what a good thing she has.
