Cork pub 'identifies' those responsible for Bradley chants

Owners of The Corner Flag pub in Cork, where abuse towards Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley was chanted on Friday evening, say that they have identified those responsible.

Bradley has said he will file a report to An Garda Siochána after Cork City fans chanted "disgusting" songs about his son.

The Shamrock Rovers manager was targeted by home supporters singing from The Corner Flag pub - which looks onto the pitch at Turner's Cross - as he conducted his post-match duties after his side were beaten 1-0 by City.

Bradley's nine-year-old son has been battling leukemia and helped Rovers lift the league trophy last year.

In a statement, the owners of the pub say that they have identified those responsible for the abuse and that they will work with gardaí "to ensure the appropriate action is taken".

"We utterly condemn the vile, disgusting chants directed at Stephen Bradley from a group of individuals who entered our premises after the Cork City and Shamrock Rovers game last night," the statement read.

"Our staff and security team have identified those involved and we are working closely with the club and gardaí to ensure the appropriate action is taken.

"On behalf of The Corner Flag we apologise to Stephen Bradley and his family and we will support him and the club and relevant authorities in any way we can."

Cork City were quick to issue an apology and the club’s owner Dermot Usher has followed up on that by promising to issue lifetime bans from the club for anyone found to have been involved.

"I was too annoyed to comment last night, these people are not Cork City fans," Usher wrote on Twitter.

"This type of behaviour has no place in society. This is not a true reflection of what Cork City FC and the people are. Lifetime bans
