Conway returns for Munster but Beirne to miss Toulouse clash

There is mixed injury news for Munster with Andrew Conway on track to return from injury for this Saturday's Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final against Toulouse.

However, it looks like Tadhg Beirne will miss out on the game at the Aviva Stadium due to a thigh injury.

Both players have been sidelined since the end of Ireland's Six Nations campaign due to respective knee and thigh problems, but the province confirmed this morning that Conway is set to return to training this week, with his availability for selection yet to be determined.

However, there was no update on Beirne in the province's latest medical report, which would all but rule the 30-year-old out of a place in the squad for the meeting with the defending champions.

Flanker John Hodnett will also miss this weekend's game, and more than likely the semi-final if Munster advance.

The 23-year-old is seeing a specialist for a knee injury sustained in the United Rugby Championship win against Ulster just over a week ago, with the province saying he will now begin an undetermined period of rehabilitation.

Chris Cloete and Jack O'Sullivan and Gavin Coombes are among the other back row forwards currently sidelined, although Munster have no fresh injuries to report following Friday night's win against Cardiff at Musgrave Park.
