Conor Murray to remain at Munster after agreeing new contract

Conor Murray will remain at Munster next season, after the province confirmed he has signed a one-year deal.

The scrum-half, who turns 35 later this month, had been due to come off his IRFU central contract at the end of this season, but has now agreed a deal with Munster until the summer of 2025.

Murray, who has played 185 times for the province, in addition to 116 Tests for Ireland, made his debut for Munster in 2010, and featured on three consecutive British and Irish Lions tours in 2013, 2017 and 2021.

While today's announcement has given clarity to Murray's situation beyond this summer, the province are still yet to reveal whether Peter O'Mahony will remain at Thomond Park beyond this summer.

Like Murray, the Ireland captain has been offered an extension by Munster, while on Saturday night head coach Graham Rowntree said news on his future was imminent.

As well as Murray, Munster have also confirmed new deals for back rows Jack Daly and Brian Gleeson.

Daly has agreed a one-year deal, with the 25-year-old Kerryman playing twice for the province so far this season as he makes his return from a long-term knee injury.

Gleeson has been promoted to senior terms from the academy, signing a two-year deal.

The 20-year-old has already made an impact on the first team, with the Ireland U20 number 8 scoring one try in nine appearances, with three of those games coming in the Investec Champions Cup.
