Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov brawl: Footage of Notorious’ massive UFC 229 strike

Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov are two of the biggest names to ever compete in the UFC, so when the pair stepped foot in the Octagon together, it was going to be a landmark night for the sport regardless.

The pair went toe-to-toe late in 2018 at UFC 229 at the T-Mobile Arena in the Las Vegas main event, with the Russian fighter coming out on top and maintaining his perfect record in the cage, something that wouldn’t change by the time he retired from the sport.

It took him till the fourth round to get the victory, with Notorious submitting to his opponent and rival following a brutal encounter.

After the fight, tensions were running high, with a fierce rivalry finally coming to a conclusion in the Octagon, with Khabib taking the win, but what happened after that was absolute carnage.

The scenes were that ugly, Dana White refused to crown Khabib as the champion in the Octagon, admitting he would have to give him the belt he had just won in the dressing room, with the hostile environment in the arena making it too risky to do.

McGregor had been trash talking in the build-up to the fight, with his insults going over the line, meaning that there was plenty of added tensions after the fight between both parties, but Notorious was keen to ensure he was defending himself in the aftermath, landing some savage blows on those brawling in the Octagon.

It’s clearly a brutal blow from McGregor, leaving his victim wobbling on his feet in the short clip, but it just goes to show how dangerous he is. The fact he could land a blow so brutal and brawl after a submission loss is incredible, although his actions aren’t to be applauded.
