Conor McGregor voted UFC's most hated fighter

In the eyes of many, Conor McGregor is the biggest star the UFC has ever seen.

His star shines so brightly that last year he topped Forbes’ list of the highest-paid athletes in 2021, earning $180m.

However, now he tops a much less favourable list.

A study by Bookmakers.com has revealed that the Irishman is the most hated UFC fighter on the internet.

The results were discovered by using Linkfluence, a social listening tool which collects data from various social media platforms such as Twitter and Reddit.

From that data, McGregor received the largest negative sentiment from fans of the promotion with 29.31% of conversations about him leaning toward the negative side.

It’s not all doom and gloom, however, as positivity towards the ‘The Notorious’ still outweighs the negative.

McGregor received a positive feedback score of 44.6% from the study, meaning the former two-division champion still has more fans than haters.

Former light heavyweight title contender Thiago Santos ranked second in the list of most hated fighters and TJ Dillashaw followed him in third place.

Also appearing on the list of most disliked fighters are featherweight contender Raquel Pennington, Liverpool’s Darren Till, light heavyweight Anthony Smith, flyweights Lauren Murphy and Viviana Araujo.

It’s no surprise to see that Israel Adesanya has been found to be the most loved UFC fighter amongst fans on the internet.

Former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno came in second place whilst McGregor also ranked third in the most liked category.
