Conor McGregor sends Katie Taylor good luck message ahead of Amanda Serrano showdown
UFC superstar Conor McGregor has sent a message of support to Katie Taylor ahead of her undisputed title fight with Amanda Serrano.
Ireland’s London 2012 Olympics golden girl will put her lightweight titles on the line against the American at Madison Square Garden in New York in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Several celebs have sent the Irish boxer their well wishes ahead of the biggest women’s fight in boxing history, including a number of WWE stars.
And now MMA icon McGregor has become the latest to get behind one of his own with a special post on social media for the Bray Bomber.
The Notorious shared the heartfelt message with his 9.2 million Twitter followers.
He tweeted: “Let’s go tonight, Katie Taylor!
“Making history once again, this time in the famed Madison Square Garden!
“With you all the way champ.”
WWE superstars Finn Balor and Becky Lynch were also among those to send messages of support to Taylor.
The 35-year-old turned professional in 2016 and is the current undisputed lightweight world champion having held the WBA belt since 2017, the IBF belt since 2018, and the WBC, WBO and The Ring magazine belts since 2019.
She is also one of only eight boxers in history – both male and female – to hold all four major titles simultaneously.
Lynch told DAZN: “It’s a huge win, especially to fighters like these ladies get the spotlight that they deserve because without question, these are pound-for-pound the best boxers in the world.
“So to see the attention that they’re getting, the spotlight, they’re getting.
“To be able to be the first women to main event a boxing card and Madison Square Garden, it’s huge, but they deserve it.
“They deserve it because they’re just so damn good.
