Conor McGregor's next UFC fight date 'leaked' by fighter as Notorious prepares for Michael Chandler
Conor McGregor's next UFC fight date against Michael Chandler has seemingly been leaked by another fighter.
McGregor's comeback fight against Chandler was announced over a year ago with the pair were finally given the green light to meet in the summer. No event or date has yet been formally announced, but it's expected they will fight at UFC 303 on June 29...and flyweight fighter Cody Durden appeared to confirm this.
"What's up fight fans? I'm back in the octagon June 29 versus Carlos Hernandez. UFC 303, Michael Chandler versus the 'Notorious' Conor McGregor. Let's go baby," Durden said in a video announcing his next fight. The event takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the same arena where McGregor broke his leg against Dustin Poirier in his last fight.
Chandler has been waiting to fight McGregor since being tapped out by Poirier in their November 2022 clash. The American, who holds a record of 2-3 in the UFC since being signed to the promotion from Bellator MMA, confirmed the mega-fight in a recent interview but refused to reveal the date.
Chandler announced to TMZ Sports: "I've got the official announcement," and "It's happening this summer. I can't tell you the actual date but it's happening this summer. The official status is we have an agreement, we are fighting this summer. We'll let the court of public opinion speculate on what the date is, but it's definitely this summer. We're giving you a window that we're going to be fighting in."
With UFC 300 just over two weeks away, both McGregor and Chandler, who have not made the headline spot after efforts, are now focused on a June event. McGregor has been spotted at numerous events promoting his acting debut in the Road House remake but hasn't won a fight
