Conor McGregor could make his comeback against Michael Chandler according to Dana White
Dana White is tempted by the prospect of a Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler UFC super-fight.
The Notorious, 33, is reportedly in the final stages of recovering from the horrific broken leg he suffered in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier last July.
Chandler, meanwhile, is coming off of a devastating win over Tony Ferguson less than two days ago, which snapped a two-fight losing streak.
Lightweights McGregor (22-6) and Chandler (23-7) are two of the most exciting fighters on the UFC roster, so it’s no surprise White says he wouldn’t have a problem pitting them both against each other.
“Yeah, that’s a fun one,” he said at the post-fight press conference.
“I mean, who the hell wouldn’t want to see that fight?
“But Conor’s not ready yet.
“When Conor is 100 per cent, and can actually really start training for a fight, then we’ll talk about what’s next for Conor.
“He’s the biggest superstar in the sport so everybody’s going to call him out.
“I think that first of all, talking about Conor, he’s not ready.
“Like, I’ll give you an example – you guys, for the last however many months, wanted to talk to me about Conor.
“I would never have said Chandler in a million years, and then tonight happened in the way that it happened and Chandler said ‘Hey Conor, let’s fight’, and Conor’s like, ‘You know what, I would like to fight you, I think it would be an exciting fight’.
“So by the time Conor is ready to actually compete, who knows what’s going to happen, who knows what the landscape is going to be, but I promise you, we’ll make a good one.”
Meanwhile Chandler got back to winning ways after absolutely starching Ferguson in what was his first fight since November of last year.
