Comparing Rodrigo Bentancur’s 21-22 stats to Tottenham’s midfielders

Bentancur moves to north London on a permanent deal for a fee of around £20million and will bolster Antonio Conte’s midfield.

The Uruguay international spent four-and-a-half years at the Serie A giants and was a target for Aston Villa earlier in the transfer window.

Since joining Juventus in 2017, no player racked up more Serie A appearances for the club than Bentancur and the 24-year-old featured 133 times in the top-flight, winning three titles along the way.

After missing out on Luis Diaz and Adama Traore earlier in the month, Tottenham fans will be pleased to see a midfielder with significant Champions League and international experience arrive at the club – but will he represent an upgrade on their current options?
