Colombian footballer claims revealing penis as opponent took free-kick was an accident

There was a shocking moment in the Colombian top flight at the weekend as Independiente Santa Fe star Geisson Perea flashed his penis at an opponent, but Perea insists it was unintentional.

The defender was in the wall as Jaguares de Cordoba were preparing to take a free-kick and Perea appeared to employ a unique distraction tactic.

The 31-year-old pulled down his shorts, unveiling his member, while staring at the opposition, a moment which was caught on Colombian television.

The way Perea revealed his phallus looked pretty intentional, but he insisted it was all an accident and only happened because he was sorting out his Lycra under his shorts.

Make of it what you will, but Perea is adamant that he was not publicising his penis on purpose.

‘I was fixing my Lycra, I had that space,’ he told Colombian broadcaster Win Sports TV. ‘When I enter [the pitch], I enter it to play and not to be aware that a camera can see me. They are synonymous with emotions that move.

‘I am a human being and I only tried to accommodate my Lycra, my intention was not to show my private parts.’

Despite the referee being in close quarters to the exposed todger, the official did not notice the incident and Perea escaped punishment during the game.

However, there have been calls in Colombia for him to be punished retrospectively for airing his appendage on national TV.

If it was indeed an intentional tactic, it worked, as the effort from Jaguares was sent wide after the free-kick taker was flashed the shaft.
