Colm Lyons and Thomas Walsh to preside over provincial deciders

Cork referee Colm Lyons will take the reins for the Munster SHC final between Limerick and Clare, while Waterford's Thomas Walsh will preside over Saturday's Leinster decider between Kilkenny and Dublin.

Lyons, from the Nemo Rangers club, previously refereed the 2022 All-Ireland final, when Limerick held off Kilkenny. Sunday will be the second Munster final he's presided over, having reffed the Covid Munster decider of 2020, when Limerick overcame Waterford.

In his last outing in the championship, Lyons was at the centre of a major talking point, having brandished a red card to Galway's David Burke for a high challenge on Dublin's Fergal Whitely.

The evening before, Walsh will officiate the Kilkenny-Dublin Leinster final in Croke Park. The Waterford ref previously oversaw the 2022 All-Ireland semi-final between Limerick and Galway, as well as last year's Joe McDonagh Cup final.

This season, he reffed the drawn Galway-Kilkenny game in Salthill and Cork's lopsided win over Tipperary in Semple Stadium.

St Gall's Colm McDonald will referee Saturday's Joe McDonagh Cup decider between Laois and Offaly at GAA HQ.
