Coleen and Wayne Rooney 'quietly sell off their multi-million pound Cheshire mansion'

Star couple Coleen and Wayne Rooney have reportedly gotten rid of their Cheshire mansion for a £3.7 million price tag.

The couple owned the five-bedroom property for 15 years after purchasing the plot for £1.5 million in 2005. Reports state that the Rooney family put the home up for sale earlier this year and managed to close the deal five months after moving into a bigger property in the Cheshire countryside.

The old mansion was well-known for possessing its own gym, swimming pool, cinema, and spa bath. It also featured a lush five-a-side football pitch where the former Manchester United player and his children practised, the Mirror reports.

A source told The Sun : “They were sad to sell it but their new house is so amazing they had no reason to keep it.” It comes after the couple and their four children - Kai, Klay, Kit, and Class - moved into a new mansion following four years of delays.

The 40-acre plot in Knutsford was bought by the family in 2017 for £4 million and has seen a further £16 million investment to get it turned into the family's dream house. Initially, they were due to move into the six-bedroom property earlier last year but saw an additional delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The stunning mansion features a television room, bar, wine store, snooker room, cinema, gym, hot tub, swimming pool, plunge pool and steam room. It also features two lifts - one for family use and one for visiting guests.

The property also includes horse stables, a large garage that can fit six cars, a fancy orangery, and two man-made lakes. A whiskey and cigar room as well as a study and library tops off the lavish homes.
