Cole Palmer impresses Riyad Mahrez and more moments missed as Man City win Super Cup

Manchester City have added yet another trophy to their ever-growing collection by winning the UEFA Super Cup.

It was a flat display for the vast majority of the match and City had Ederson to thank for making a string of fine one-on-one saves to keep a combative Sevilla at bay. En-Nesyri had enough chances to claim a hat-trick but failed to take them which kept City in the game long enough to draw level. It was Cole Palmer, who had shown flashes of skill out on the right, who grabbed the leveller as he looped a header over the goalkeeper from a superb Rodri cross.

Sevilla were still dangerous but the goal finally brought Pep Guardiola's side to life and they had several chances to win the match, Ake coming closest as he saw a diving header tipped over the bar. The game went straight to penalties after finishing all square and after the Blues converted all of theirs, Nemanja Gudelj slapped the crossbar to give City the win.

Amazing Palmer skill

Palmer grabbed the important equaliser for City but there was plenty more to his appearance than just that. The forward was deployed
