Cole: Moyes ‘will have suitors’ – West Ham boss is ‘better than’ when he joined Man Utd

Joe Cole is of the belief that West Ham United boss David Moyes “will have suitors” as he has done “very well” with the Hammers.

Moyes was the man chosen to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Man Utd in 2013. His reign ended in April 2014 with United seventh in the Premier League.

The Scotsman has managed Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham since then. He left the Hammers in June 2018 but he returned in December 2019 with them 17th in the table.

Under Moyes, the Hammers stayed up and in 2020/21 they enjoyed a phenomenal season as they finished sixth in the Premier League.

The Londoners currently sit seventh and they reached the semi-final stage of the Europa League. They were knocked out of the competition by Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.

Following their exit, Cole suggested that rivals will be interested in appointing Moyes:

“We have to be careful because West Ham lost tonight but you have to look at the whole story,” Cole told BT Sport.

“When he came through the door, when he came back to the club, he bought a steeliness to the club and he will be very proud of his players.
