Cody Gakpo has sent Manchester United another transfer reminder with Netherlands show
PSV attacker Cody Gakpo attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs in the summer, and Manchester United were among them.
The 23-year-old, who registered 21 goals and 15 assists in 47 appearances for the Eredivisie outfit last term, admitted earlier in the summer that he expected to leave PSV in the transfer window. However, the forward failed to secure a move away and remained at the Philips Stadium.
Despite a move failing to materialise, as United sealed a deal for Antony instead, Gakpo has been in electric form so far this season — recording 19 goal contributions in just 13 matches. His impressive form saw him receive a call-up to Louis van Gaal's Netherlands side for the recent Nations League matches.

The Netherlands overcame FIFA’s number two ranked nation Belgium 1-0 in their last match before the Qatar World Cup on Sunday night. Gakpo, who came on in the 23rd minute, got the assist for the late winner.
The home side's winning goal came with just 17 minutes to go when Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk headed home an inviting Gakpo corner. It was the 23-year-old's eighth goal contribution in his last five appearances for club and country, and showed exactly why he was so sought-after in the summer.
It would most likely have taken Cristiano Ronaldo's departure from United in the summer for a deal to be completed for Gakpo, given the Antony transfer.
