Co-op Live confirms it will DEFINITELY open next week as bosses issue update
Co-op Live bosses have issued a new update about its scheduled opening date. The £365m venue, was originally due to open in April but has been hit with a number of setbacks due to 'technical issues' and ongoing building work.
Today (May 10), bosses at the UK's largest indoor entertainment venue have said that they are 'thrilled' to be gearing up to open its doors on 14 May with Bury band Elbow and to 'proceed with all scheduled events'. It's statement adds that it is 'disappointed 'to have delayed the opening and 'frustrated' so many in the process.
Earlier this week, the venue announced it will host a Travis Scott gig July, but as of yet, the 23,500 capacity arena has yet to open. It was originally slated to open on April 23 with Bolton comedian Peter Kay but has been delayed three times over the last few weeks.

Last Wednesday (May 1), A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's gig was called off minutes before it was due to start after a part of the air conditioning unit fell from the gantry inside the venue. Ticket holders were asked to 'leave the arena' after bosses announced the concert would not go ahead due to a 'technical issue'.
This followed a reduced capacity test event with Rick Astley on April 20, a rescheduling of Peter Kay's opening shows on April 23 and 24, as well as The Black Keys on April 27. Following last Wednesday's cancelled gig, Olivia Rodrigo's two shows last weekend were postponed, Take That's May dates of their homecoming residency were moved to the AO Arena, and Keane moved their show to October.
On Wednesday this week, the venue reiterated its most recent statement that it would be officially opening with Bury
