‘Clueless’ Frank Lampard under scrutiny at Everton amid two big concerns
Everton’s season is showing no signs of improving despite the arrival of Frank Lampard, who has reportedly been described as “clueless” by one source in the dressing room.
The midweek defeat at Burnley has ploughed Lampard into a fierce battle to avoid the drop. Everton host Manchester United on Saturday lunchtime sitting just a point and place above the Clarets in 18th place.
Lampard, who was sacked at Chelsea in January 2021, says he does not feel the pressure.
“I spent 18 months at Chelsea where you are always two games from the sack. In the Premier League you sign up for that, I’ve got no problem with that. We’re a huge club, people want to talk about it. We’ve got no right to not be fighting a battle with relegation. But what I am is proud to manage here,” he said at his press conference on Friday.

Lampard though needs results on the pitch having lost all five of his away games in the Premier League. Burnley boss Sean Dyche even said “this lot don’t know how to win a game away from home” at half-time on Wednesday.
At home the Toffees have been more competitive and have defeated Leeds and Newcastle.
But Everton’s squad have two issues with Lampard just three months into his reign, according to a report.
