Club wrap: Tullamore into Offaly SFC final as Crossmaglen get a fright in Armagh opener

Holders Tullamore eased into the Offaly SFC final after a 1-14 to 0-10 win over Edenderry in Sunday's semi, a late goal from Diarmuid Egan sealing victory.

There they will face Rhode, who progressed to an 11th successive decider, but only after a titanic battle with Ferbane went all the way to penalties on Saturday evening.

After a 0-17 to 1-14 draw over 90 minutes of football, the 30-times champions edged home 3-2 in the shoot-out, goalkeeper Ken Garry stepping up as the hero to slot their final penalty and then saving from Shane Nally to send the Offaly aristocrats to yet another decider.

In Kerry on Saturday evening, East Kerry were unfussed by the absence of David Clifford as they eased to a 12-point victory over Kerins O'Rahilly's in their SFC round 1 game in Tralee.

Even without Clifford, the divisional side, Kerry champions in 2019 and 2020, boasted an All-Ireland winner in every line of the team and were further strengthened by Legion's relegation in 2021.

Ex-Footballer of the Year James O'Donoghue, arriving from the Legion contingent, struck 1-04, while Listry's Ruairí Murphy rustled up 1-05.

Paudie Clifford and Shane Ryan notched 0-04 and 0-03 respectively as the unbackable favourites ran out 2-20 to 1-11 winners, Conor Hayes firing home O'Rahilly's only goal, while 2014 All-Ireland winner Barry John Keane scored 0-04.

Despite the absence of Gavin White, Dr Croke's overcame St Kieran's by six points on Sunday, Cian McMahon and Kieran O'Leary firing home the decisive goals.

Dylan O'Donoghue's injury-time point rescued a draw for South Kerry as they reeled in a six-point deficit against Templenoe, Aidan Crowley's goal having put the latter in a commanding position, 1-11 to 0-14 the scoreline at the game's end.
