Leeds United will need to be wary of one player in particular this weekend as they get set for a critical game in the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are in a pretty rough spot right now. They are coming off the back of a five-game run without a win, a run which has seen them concede 17 goals in that time and put them dangerously close to the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Their opponents Tottenham, meanwhile, are also in a bit of a tricky place. Despite beating Manchester City last weekend, a defeat to Burnley has caused something of a ruckus behind the scenes at the club. And given their position in relation to the European places, the three points on offer will be extremely valuable to both teams.

But one player in particular could pose a serious threat to Leeds United’s chances of picking up a result, as we examine below:

Lucas Moura, whilst not Tottenham Hotspur’s top scorer this season, has a few other tricks up his sleeve that could cause Leeds United some problems, most notably when he has the ball at his feet.

He is currently averaging 2.1 dribbles per game, which is the most of any Tottenham player this season, whilst also getting away 1.2 key passes, which ranks joint-third in the Spurs squad, as well as 1.4 shots per game – the fourth-best in the side.

On top of that, he has been clocked in the past at being able to sprint at 21mph, a pace enough to give any defender nightmares.

Leeds United and their high-intensity style of play does have one big flaw in it that Tottenham and Moura will look to exploit, and that’s is the fact they are very vulnerable when it comes to players running at them – best demonstrated by Liverpool defender Joel Matip strolling through the side in midweek.
