Ciarán Meenagh not seeking Derry return
Derry will have to appoint a new manager after interim manager Ciarán Meenagh confirmed that he will not be seeking to be appointed for the 2024 season, according to reports.
The Gaelic Life states that Meenagh has informed the Oakleaf County that he does not want to be considered, with his focus currently now on Tyrone club side Loughmacrory who begin their championship campaign this month.
He had guided the side to their second Ulster title in a row following their penalty shoot-out win over Armagh and also came agonisingly close to sealing an All-Ireland final spot before they were caught down the stretch by Kerry.
Meenagh took over the side after Rory Gallagher stepped away in May following serious allegations regarding his private life.
In a social media posting, Gallagher's former wife, Nicola, claimed she had been the victim of domestic violence over a period of years during their marriage.
Gallagher subsequently issued a statement through his solicitor saying the allegations against him had been "investigated and dealt with by the relevant authorities".
On Sunday, Ulster GAA confirmed that they had temporarily debarred Gallagher "without prejudice, from the GAA until the Ulster GAA Safeguarding Panel conclude their work."
The move comes following reports that the Fermanagh man had recently taken some training sessions with clubs in the northern province.
