Christmas Eve 2024 supermarket opening times for Aldi, Tesco, Asda, M&S, Morrisons and Sainsbury's
With Christmas just days away, it is important to make sure the fridge is full and the cupboards are stocked as we get ready for days of celebrating and overindulging.
However, if you are thinking of getting a few last-minute items from Aldi, Tesco, Asda Lidl, or Morrisons, it is worth remembering that opening hours will vary over the festive period.
Nearly all shops across the UK will be closed on Christmas Day itself, and a number of big-name retailers will also remain closed on Boxing Day to give staff an extra day off.
So, if you do need to head out to the supermarkets, it is worth checking when they are open and closed over the next few days. Below are all the opening hours on Tuesday and the days before New Year for stores, including Aldi, ASDA, Tesco, M&S, Lidl, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Booths.
Aldi will close all its stores on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and reopen as usual on Friday, December 27.
Opening hours will vary in the build-up to Christmas, with Aldi operating extended hours to ensure customers can stock up.
Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “Christmas is such a special period for many of our colleagues, and by keeping our stores closed on Boxing Day, Aldi gives them more time to spend with their loved ones.
“Customers will have plenty to look forward to in the run-up to Christmas, with exciting Christmas ranges hitting shelves in time for the festive season.”
Opening times depend on the Aldi branch you visit, so it's a good idea to consult the store locator before planning your shopping. For reference here are the opening times for Aldi, Manchester Arndale.
