Christine McGuinness says 'I'm not allowed' as she's quizzed over married name and children after Paddy split

Christine McGuinness has addressed a number of fans' comments about still using her married name and about her young children following her split from her TV star ex-husband Paddy McGuinness.

Christine, 35, and Paddy, 50, confirmed the end of their marriage after 11 years to their fans and followers on July 22 last year (2022) in a joint statement which they shared on social media.

They said: "We hadn't planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but after the lack of privacy surrounding our personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify. A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.

"This was not an easy decision to make but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children. We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together."

The former couple, who share twins Leo and Penelope and youngest daughter Felicity added at the time: "We hope this now draws a line under any more unwanted and unnecessary intrusion into our private life. Although we work in the public eye we ask kindly if you could respect our wishes for privacy on this matter. We’ll be making no further comment. Loads of love. Paddy & Christine."

The pair have since gone about the last year focusing on their children while still living together in Cheshire but neither have addressed their split directly since. However, in a string of social media posts on Tuesday (August 15), Christine "spilled the tea" as she hit back at claims over where she was when
