Christian Pulisic's strong message over Chelsea minutes after Raheem Sterling transfer

Christian Pulisic has declared Raheem Sterling's arrival at Chelsea does not change his situation as he continues to fight for a starting spot at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues made Sterling their first signing of the summer as he joined in a £47.5million deal from Manchester City last week, adding extra firepower to the Blues' attack after Romelu Lukaku re-joined Inter Milan on a season-long loan. Armando Broja is set to sign for West Ham, while Hakim Ziyech has been linked with a move away from the club as Thomas Tuchel tries to refresh his front line.

Despite Sterling's arrival, Pulisic is happy to compete with the England international for regular game time at Chelsea and will not duck the challenge his new teammate presents.

The 23-year-old, who mainly operates on the left-flank, is set to battle for a first-team place alongside Timo Werner and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Sterling only adds to the great depth Chelsea have up front as they attempt to battle for the Premier League title.

When asked about Sterling, he told ESPN FC : "Great quality. We’re really excited about it. The beautiful thing about being at a club like this is the competition every single day. We all thrive competing with each other in training and getting to play with each other is just another great addition to the team.

"It doesn’t change a whole lot [for me], I’m still going to have to play hard and earn my position, just like I did before, nothing crazy has changed. This is Chelsea, this is what you signed up for, this is the kind of club it is with the calibre of players that we have."
