Christian Horner keeps coy amid Mercedes' struggles

Christian Horner has said that he has ‘no feelings’ over Mercedes‘ current struggles and that he is focusing on the task in hand at Red Bull.

The 2021 season seems a long time ago already where Mercedes and Red Bull battled it out pretty much every race weekend for victory, right up until the final Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.

Indeed, whilst the Bulls have remained competitive for race wins, Mercedes have been replaced by Ferrari at the front of the field, with the W13 proving a rather difficult car for them to optimise right now.

Of course, you have to feel that the Silver Arrows will eventually get on top of it and come back into the fold at the front, but whether they can do that quick enough to challenge for the championship this season remains to be seen.

In the meantime, Red Bull and Ferrari will be looking to take advantage and earn as many points as possible and Horner, speaking to Sky Sports, has said that he is fully focused on the job with his own team, rather than worrying about Mercedes’ issues.

“They are struggling.

“I have no feelings about their competitiveness. Obviously I’m focused on our competitiveness in what’s a very intense fight with Ferrari at the moment.

“I have no doubt at some point Mercedes will join that battle, but my focus is very much on our team.”

Red Bull hit back in the early fight last time out with a win in Saudi Arabia and will be looking to keep that going as F1 heads to Australia next weekend.
