Christian Eriksen to Man Utd: Heartwarming moment with Brandon Williams remembered

Christian Eriksen is all set to be a Manchester United player in 2022/23.

On Monday, David Ornstein confirmed that the Red Devils had a verbal agreement with the Danish playmaker, who impressed in the second half of last season at Brentford.

Shortly after that news done the rounds on social media, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano gave the deal the coveted ‘here we go’ treatment.

Eriksen will join United for free on a deal that will run until 2025 and it really could prove to be a shrewd piece of business by Erik ten Hag’s side.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder returned to competitive action earlier on in the year with Brentford after suffering a cardiac arrest in a group stage match at Euro 2020.

It didn’t take long for him to find his stride. Eriksen finished the campaign with a goal and four assists from 11 appearances, his brilliance helping keep the Bees in the Premier League.

And during his marvellous 2021/22 comeback, Eriksen was involved in a rather heartwarming moment with soon-to-be United teammate, Brandon Williams.

During Brentford’s match away at Norwich City on March 5th, Eriksen and Williams tussled for the ball, with both players eventually falling to the turf in a heap.

Fired up by the fact he’d been sent to the ground, Williams was ready for a bit of a skirmish with the player next to him – until he realised who it was.

As soon as the defender caught eyes with Eriksen, his attitude towards the situation changed rather dramatically.

Williams helped the Danish icon to his feet with a beaming smile on his face after giving him a big ol’ cuddle and it really was a heartwarming moment.
