Christian Benteke: Crystal Palace ace had face grabbed by Everton fan during pitch invasion

Patrick Vieira lashed out at a fan after Crystal Palace’s Premier League match against Everton on Thursday evening.

Everton fans invaded the pitch on two separate occasions during the match.

Many made their way onto the pitch after Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal in the 85th minute, which turned out to be the winner.

There was a larger pitch invasion when the final whistle sounded and Everton’s Premier League safety was secured.

A supporter ran up to Vieira and goaded him as he made his way to the dressing room. Vieira kicked out at the individual.

Christian Benteke was also targeted by a couple of Everton fans.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp spoke about the pitch invasion in his Friday press conference.

“It could have been dangerous. I’m not sure how you avoid that,” he said, per BBC.

“I don’t want to judge. I understand emotions but for the other team it’s dangerous. I really hope we learn from that. We should make sure absolutely nothing happens.
