Chris Wilder makes Middlesbrough transfer claim ahead of the summer window

Middlesbrough boss Chris Wilder has said he thinks Boro are an attractive prospect to potential signings this summer.

Wilder’s side missed out on a play-off place on the final day of the Championship season and will be looking to strengthen their squad in the summer in order to challenge for the play-offs, or more, next campaign.

Wilder believes Boro have everything to be a success.

“We’ve got the support, we’ve got the infrastructure and we’ve got the chairman. We’ve got knowledge and experience in the coaching team.” Wilder explained via TeessideLive.

“I’ve been there before and done it, as the staff have. Now I’ve got to do the hard thing which is bringing the players in.

“In a way, it’s difficult, of course, but in a way, it’s easy as well. I’m not saying we’re going to get it all done in one window, but I think we’ll attract some good players.

“I think players coming in will have seen what’s happened, the level of support we’ve had, 9,500 at Old Trafford, the cup games against Tottenham and Chelsea and the games on Sky where, at our best, this is an attractive club to come to.”

Middlesbrough have certainly commanded great support this season, both at home at the Riverside Stadium, and away from home too.

Continuing on Boro’s summer plans, Wilder explained that the club have already spoken to some good players about joining the club when the window opens.

“We’ve already spoken to some good players about coming and there are some good targets that we’ve got too.” Wilder added.

“We won’t get them all, but I’ll do my best to attract some really good players – and players with good attitudes as well.
