Chilling CCTV shows predator on the prowl before he tried to rape women in terrifying city centre attacks

Chilling CCTV shows an attempted rapist prowling the streets of a city centre looking for women to attack.

Footage captured the moment Leo Payne could be seen looking for lone women in Swansea, as well as exposing himself in public, WalesOnline reports. A sentencing at Swansea Crown Court head how within the space of an hour, Payne attacked and tried to rape two women as they walked through the city centre, threatening one of his victims that he had a knife.

Payne also followed a number of other woman, walked around with his trousers down exposing himself, and performed a sex act in front of passing motorists on a busy road. The 20-year-old also attacked a man with a bottle after the good Samaritan became concerned at his behaviour towards a female and challenged him.

Now disturbing CCTV footage has caught Payne lurking in Swansea city centre on the night in question, as well as his grotesque demeanour. He has now been given an extended extended 16-year sentence as a dangerous offender.

Carina Hughes, prosecuting, said all Payne's offending took place in June this year in Swansea city centre and involved the defendant 'roaming the streets in search of lone females' to attack. She said the defendant's motivation was sexual.

The court heard how he followed a lone woman and said 'you're coming with me' when she tried to escape, before attacking her before he was interrupted by taxi marshals. Shortly after, Payne followed a second woman where he attacked her from behind and took her to the floor.

The court heard Payne told the woman he had a knife and his victim saw something shiny in the defendant's hand which he held against her neck,
