Children’s charity launches awards to help disabled and disadvantaged kids across Greater Manchester

A new awards evening to support disadvantaged and disabled kids across Greater Manchester and the North West is being launched by children’s charity Variety. Each year the charity hosts the national PROPS Awards, which have helped raise more than £10m for children.

This year Variety is hosting a regional version, the NW PROPS Awards. It will take place at the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate on November 30.

The new ceremony builds on the success of other popular events run by the charity in the North West, including the Legends of Industry dinner. Lyn Staunton, Development Director for Variety, said: “The PROPS is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable events that we run, giving business owners the chance to have an exciting night while giving back to those who really need it in their own region.

“We’ve had such amazing responses from the London PROPS that it just made sense to bring the format up here, especially with the incredible strength of the North West property industry.”

The ceremony will offer a chance for the North West’s property professionals to celebrate their successes and support the charity through sponsorships, table bookings and a raffle. Lyn added: “Whether you’re a headline sponsor or you buy a bear at the raffle, everything given will make a huge difference to the lives of children across the North West.”

The cost of living crisis has hit disadvantaged families across the region, with a recent report revealing children in the North are some of the worst affected.

A number of high profile leaders in the North West property sector have already pledged their time and support for the cause for the new awards
