Chiefs coach frustrated with second half performance despite victory

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says he was not "happy" with his side's second half performance despite Chiefs overcoming a stern test by beating Swallows FC 2-1 on Wednesday evening.

The victory means Amakhosi are now four games unbeaten in the DStv Premiership, moving them up to fifth on the log, level on points with arch-rivals Orlando Pirates.

Zwane was pleased with his side's first half performance, but he was critical of their efforts in the second stanza.

"I think we had a very good first half. We were in control of the game and we created a number of chances and we managed to score two goals," Zwane told reporters.

"The second half was the opposite of that, we played in patches. We actually started the second half really well but we dropped for some reason.

"We knew they were going to be playing for the second balls, even from their first half that was their plan."

Zwane hinted that his side's inability to manage the game was a reason for the contrasting performance in the second half.

"I think our second half performance could have been much better. We just needed to manage the game and continue where we left off from the first half but we allowed them to put us under pressure. When they got their goal, we were always going to be under pressure and they nearly got the equaliser.

"We were very dangerous at dead ball situations. What is important is our first away win (in the league) but I'm not happy with the second half performance," concluded Zwane.
