Chelsee Healey to return to Hollyoaks as Goldie McQueen after axe fears

Chelsee Healey is poised for a dramatic comeback to Hollyoaks as the outspoken Goldie McQueen.

The 36-year-old star first graced the Hollyoaks scene in 2008 with a guest appearance as Michelle, before becoming a show regular in 2016 as the iconic McQueen family member, Goldie.

Earlier this year, Chelsee sparked concern among Channel 4 soap fans when she shared a cryptic and worrying message on social media about feeling "dark and heavy".

On her Instagram story, alongside a selfie, Chelsee expressed: "Been very unactive on here. Things are feeling a little heavy and dark at the minute. Staying [arm emoji] for my girls and have the best support around me. Hope everyone is well."

This post came amid news that Hollyoaks cast and crew members were being let go as part of ongoing cuts, which saw the show's weekly episodes reduced from five to three in a significant shake-up, reports the Mirror.

In response to these changes, showrunners have introduced a "time jump" narrative device to expedite certain characters' exits by advancing the storyline by one year. Despite this, it seems Chelsee, who is currently on maternity leave after giving birth to her second child, will soon return to the village as Goldie.

Malique Thompson-Dwyer, who portrays Goldie's son Prince McQueen on the show, has confirmed that viewers can expect to see Chelsee back on their screens shortly.

He disclosed: "She [Chelcee] will be coming back soon. She has had a baby in real life so it's going to be amazing when she comes back. Prince needs some sort of guidance as well. He's got his family but his mum, I feel like she's the only one Prince will really listen to. I feel like he needs her back."
