Chelsea vs Man City live early team news and goal updates as Rodri out of Premier League opener

Rodri will miss Manchester City's opening Premier League fixture at Chelsea having returned late to training this summer.

A European Championship winner, Rodri was back at City on Wednesday, but Pep Guardiola said he hasn't trained and has 'no chance' of making the City squad at Stamford Bridge this afternoon. Oscar Bobb is also out with a fractured leg, although Guardiola did not include Jack Grealish on the list of absentees after the winger missed the Community Shield.

Bobb's absence could line up Savinho for a full debut, with Jeremy Doku an option on the opposite flank. Guardiola added that Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and John Stones are not set to start but could feature off the bench after returning this week.

City beat Chelsea two weeks ago in pre-season in Columbus, but Guardiola insists Enzo Maresca's side will be far tougher to beat at home today.
