Forgotten Man City man seals transfer two days after deadline and one more deal could still be done

Manchester City ended their transfer business on Friday night - but two more deals may be possible before Monday's transfer deadline in two other leagues.

City added Savinho and Ilkay Gundogan to their squad over the summer, and resisted the temptation to sign any further reinforcements after Julian Alvarez's exit and Oscar Bobb's injury. The only business on Friday's deadline day were outgoings from the academy, with one permanent exit and one loan move confirmed.

However, some transfer windows across Europe remain open, particularly the Portuguese and Dutch leagues, and City have used that opportunity to loan out one of their fringe defenders.

Late on Sunday night it was confirmed that Issa Kabore will spend the season at Benfica - as MEN Sport reported last week. The right-back had appeared on the bench against Manchester United in the Community Shield and Ipswich in the Premier League, with Pep Guardiola saying he wasn't sure whether the Burkina Faso international would be a part of his squad this season.

Kabore was at Luton last season, with spells at Marseille, Troyes and Mechelen since signing from the Belgian club in 2020. He will be at Benfica for the season, with no option or obligation to buy understood to be included in the loan.
