Chelsea star Jorginho makes honest admission over Pep Guardiola 'dream'

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has admitted he "dreams" about playing under Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard is widely regarded as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the game - winning three Premier League titles, two European Cups and various other trophies.

Jorginho, who is the reigning European footballer of the year, is currently flourishing under Blues boss Thomas Tuchel - lifting the Champions League last season.

The Italian joined Chelsea from Napoli in the summer of 2018, although didn't initially have his eyes set on a move to Stamford Bridge.

"I wasn’t supposed to come to Chelsea," Jorginho told Brazilian YouTuber Ale Oliveira. "I was supposed to have arrived at another club. Another English club.

"And then it happened as it happened and I arrived at Chelsea. So with Chelsea everything happened very fast. When I saw their offer, I was already in London and I said, 'Let’s go.'"

When asked if he dreams of playing under Guardiola, Jorginho said: "I have. I don’t know if it will happen. But yeah, he’s a reference.

"When I was a kid, I watched his Barcelona win everything with Ronaldinho, Xavi, Iniesta."

Chelsea are highly unlikely to sell Jorginho to Man City - one of their biggest rivals for silverware - as he's one of their best players.

The 30-year-old's trophy cabinet includes the Europa League, Super Cup, Club World Cup, Euro 2020 and the Coppa Italia.

Jorginho, who has 42 senior caps for Italy, has made more than 500 professional appearances for club and country since emerging at Hellas Verona in 2010.

And the chance of Guardiola managing the player at Stamford Bridge is extremely slim, as he's previously ruled out the possibility of coaching another Premier League side.
