Chelsea see Club World Cup request by Premier League approved amid Liverpool and Man Utd snub

Chelsea are set to be able to don their golden FIFA Club World Cup badge for the rest of the Premier League season amid initial thoughts that this would not be the case.

The Blues have now recalibrated from their few weeks in Abu Dhabi as they have since played in the Premier League and Champions League respectively against Crystal Palace and most recently Lille.

However, the memories of the Middle East will still linger on the agenda for the players and fans alike who will remember the experience for a very long time after the historic win against Palmeiras.

One consequence of the FIFA Club World Cup win was that the European and world champions would be able to don their FIFA Club World Cup winning badge only in their first Premier League game and for the rest of their Champions League campaign.

It was initially understood from that Thomas Tuchel's side would not be allowed to wear their Club World Cup badge after the Palace London derby win, but it seems the club have been able to convince the Premier League into a U-turn on a rule that in the past has applied to Man United and Liverpool respectively.

The strict rules regarding the Club World Cup badge states that teams are not allowed to permanently change their kits mid-season as per top flight regulations.

In spite of this rule, it seems that Chelsea have been able to come to some sort of compromise with the higher ups in the league, as the Sun have reported that the west Londoners will now be allowed to wear the gold Club World Cup badge on their shirts for the rest of the season after the Premier League accepted their request.
