Chelsea score three goals in first 10 minutes to set incredible WSL record

Chelsea scored three goals in the first 10 minutes of the Women’s Super League clash against Leicester.

The Blues travelled to the King Power Stadium to take on the Foxes, who currently sit second from bottom in the WSL table.

In contrast, Chelsea went into the match in second, and their superiority was on display as they romped to a 9-0 victory.

Guro Reiten started the scoring with a sublime free-kick in the third minute, before Sam Kerr doubled the lead just two minutes later.

Bethany England then powered the ball into the back of the net for Chelsea’s third goal of the game. It was still only the 7th minute.

As a result, Chelsea became the first side to ever score three times within the opening 10 minutes of a WSL match.

Aniek Nouwen continued the scoring in the 11th minute, before both England and Reiten added to their tally before the half-time break.
