Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah sends message after Liverpool tackle left him needing stitches
Trevoh Chalobah has taken aim at referee Stuart Attwell following Naby Keita’s tackle on him during the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
Midway through the second half and Keita collided with Chalobah in the middle of the pitch as the two competed for a bouncing ball.
Replays seemed to suggest that K eita went in studs up on Chalobah, with the Liverpool midfielder also missing the ball and just taking out the 22-year-old.
Referee Attwell initially waved play on with Liverpool in possession of the ball before the game was stopped as both players remained on the ground.
Speaking on commentary in the immediate aftermath of the tackle, Gary Neville believed that although the challenge wasn’t a red card offence, it was certainly a foul.
